Saturated steam sterilization kettle is the earliest type of sterilization kettle used in cans. Compared with iron pot sterilization, it is the simplest and most reliable type of sterilization kettle. In this process, the sterilization kettle is filled with steam and all the air is discharged from the sterilization kettle through the exhaust valve.
Since air is not allowed to enter the sterilization kettle at any time during any sterilization step, there is no overpressure during the sterilization stage of this process.
However, air overpressure may be applied during the cooling step to prevent the vessel from deforming.
FDA and Chinese regulations have made detailed regulations on the design and operation of steam sterilization kettle, so although it is not advantageous in terms of energy consumption, but because it is widely used in many old canneries, it is still favored by many customers.

The working principle of saturated steam sterilization kettle
Put the product in a basket into the sterilization kettle and the kettle door is closed.
Then the cauldron door is secured through triple safety interlock.
The door is mechanically locked throughout the sterilization process.
The sterilization process is carried out automatically according to the formula of the microprocessing controller PLC.
At the beginning, the steam enters into the steam through the steam diffusion pipe in the kettle, and the air is discharged through the exhaust port. When the exhaust temperature and time are reached, the heating stage is entered. The whole process of heating and sterilization should ensure that the sterilization kettle is saturated steam, and there can be no residual air to make the heat distribution uneven and sterilization incomplete.
The vent is opened in the whole exhaust, heating, sterilization stage, so that the steam can form convection, to ensure the uniformity of temperature.
There are two stages of cooling, micro cooling and total cooling. The purpose of micro cooling is not to lose pressure in the kettle and ensure that the product packaging is not deformed.
Because of the use of saturated steam when sterilization, sterilization kettle pressure and steam saturation pressure corresponding, only suitable for iron cans and other rigid vessels with a wide range of pressure requirements.
The temperature distribution uniformity in the kettle is +/-0.5℃.
